Hello Autumn...

Image
I woke up in the morning feeling much better than I did over the last few days. It looks like now that Autumn is officially here, and the weather is getting more and more stable, my body got somewhat used to the fact that Summer is over and it's time to move on now. By now, you will all know how much of a summer person I am. I feel pretty depressed when I'm cold, when there is no sun, only rain and wind. I need a lot of clothes to keep me warm during the colder months and lots of hot tea and shortbread. However, there are also a few ( just a few things ) about Autumn and Winter that I like, just because in Summer they are not the best things to do... I love burning candles all around my flat on dark, grey days when everything you can do is just sit at home, stay warm and watch TV or read a book. Scented candles from Yankee Candle or WoodWick candles are my favourite ones ( this reminds me of the fact that I should order myself a new WoodWick sometime soon a...

First of July

Image
Good morning my dear friends! My exams are over and just like 2 years ago after my finals, I thought I would finally sleep much longer but nope, got up at 7. I'm working 1 til 10 today so I need to save up my energy a bit and since I now have the time to blog again, I wanted to start with this topic. Exactly one year ago, on the First of July 2015 I got up on a sunny day in Currie, Edinburgh and I knew that these were the last hours of my life in the UK. I got to cuddle my ferret for the last time ( I'm gonna be reunited with her in less than a week!) and I packed up the rest of my belongings. As I made my way to the airport I felt nervous and unsure about how my life would change from that point. I felt heartbroken to leave Edinburgh. I loved it so much. And not a single day goes by without thinking about it. My year in Scotland was really a time that was tough, but so good as well. I wish I could have stayed for much longer because there was just so much more to get to ...

Waiting For Spring

Image
Hello everybody! After more than a week I am finally back again! I am really sorry for the lack of posts recently but I was focussing a bit more on a few videos that you can find over on my YT channel ( here !) Apart from that I started uni and wotking again, which means that now I am busy full-time pretty much. The only day I have off is Sunday- which is why I finally got to write a new post for you today. I am a bit stressed out these days because of all those busy days- I also didn't get to do my homework yet, which is due tomorrow ( or even tonight).  So right after finishing off this post I will try and do all of what I was supposed to do during the week. Today I wanted to write a bit about spring, and why I really want winter to be over already. I am a summer person- I need warm, sunny days to feel full of energy and to be happy. To feel a bit better I buy myself bouquets of fresh tulips because they are my favourite flowers and once they are available in...

Cosy Friday Night In & Vlog

Image
Since I always work during the weekends, I never really have much time for myself. The only day I don't need to go anywhere really is Friday, but then again I have to be home early because I need to get up the next morning to go to work. So, I'd say that I can't relax fully all day long. For this reason I always try to go and get some fresh air on Fridays, to get out of the house for at least some hours and to enjoy this day. It is also vlog day so I try to be home early, because the editing, converting and uploading process takes about three hours of my day and I want to be in bed early to get enough sleep. I am sitting here in front of the computer, browsing the Internet while the vlog is uploading. Maya is running around in the room trying to climb the window sill and to find sweets. Eryk is not back home yet, so I have some peace. The candles are lit and I just try to relax. I also eat skittles and have a nice cup of tea. Once the vlog is ready I also have to...

New Years Resolutions 2015

Image
A new year is a good date to plan things ahead. I always try my best to make resolutions and to keep them if possible, Here is what I thought about for 2014: Resolutions I wrote down 10 and managed to keep 8! I think that's not bad, right? So, my resolutions for 2015 are: 1) Get into Uni. - I didn't get into Uni last year, so I had to chose College instead, but now it is really time for Uni... I've sent my application again and I will also send one for Vienna in March, just in case something should go wrong. 2) Save up some money for holidays, tickets, moving out. - Everybody needs money and as a student I try my best to save up as much as possible. But make-up and clothes make everything worse. However, I also want to go on holidays and this requires some money too. 3) Buy a laptop. - Last year I didn't buy myself a new laptop, but this year I really need to. ( See point 2- save up some money). I will need one to work for Uni and to upload blogs more or less a...

Top 3 Autumn/Winter Nail Polishes

Image
To be honest, I don't really know if you can still call this time of the year autumn, where everything is so christmassy already. And it got colder for sure. To me this is already winter, and it's also only a month left until Christmas. Which means that I have my flight to Poland in less than a month already! This is really crazy... But, as the christmassy times also mean christmassy, cosy outfits, I like to pair them with pretty nail polishes. I haven't bought any new ones lately, although I'd really love to have a dark grey one or so. Or all the nail polishes available at the moment. So here are three nail polishes I wear most often right now, and which are also very good and worth having at home. The first nail polish for today is quite a dark purple shade from MakeUpAcademy. The colour is called Plum Noir and you can get it from Superdrug for 1£ only! After two thin layers, the nail polish is covering nicely. It gives a nice accent to your outfit, goes perf...

First British Advent Calendar!

Image
Today I had my third day off and Eryk finished work early, so we decided to meet up in town, in order to go to Matalan and ASDA. We were actually only planning on going to Matalan because we thought of buying some more home ware for our room. Eryk was already waiting for me when I arrived and we were looking around for nice things. We did find many nice throws, frames and so on, but we were not 100% sure about them whether we should really get them or wait a bit longer. So, we ended up buying Christmas wrapping paper and a nude cami-top for me, as I bought a beautiful transparent top on Monday, but couldn't wear it without a nude top underneath. Now I actually found a pretty one and hopefully they will look really nice together. Of course, I will add a picture on my blog once I've worn the outfit out somewhere. So after we've paid, we took the bus home but decided to go to ASDA and have a quick meal at McDonald's and to do the grocery shopping too. And as ASDA has all...

Scented Candle Addict

Image
As you may have already realised, I am kind of a candle addict. I try not to stock up too much on them because I actually want to see them and smell them burn. And if I had too many different ones at the same time, there would always be some of them left unlit. I've always bought scented candles from IKEA, which are great, but I've burnt down all of the ones I had when I still lived in Vienna. I also had one from Primark, in a rectangular piece of glass, and it's Vanilla smell was just amazing! Last Christmas I even got three small Yankee Candles from the Christmas Range, but I didn't have enough space in my luggage to take them all with me when I was moving out. And one of the nicest candles I've had was one from WoodWick, which was also a Christmas gift last year. It had a crackling noise and such a beautifully shaped jar, which could be actually reused as a small bouquet vase. I nearly burnt it down fully before leaving, so I gave it to my mum and she placed i...

My OOTD: College and Shopping Day

Image
Today I woke up quite late, as the weather was just horrible and made me feel like I don't even need to get out of bed at all this morning. But when I saw the terrible mess in our room I decided that there was definitely a reason to get up, because the mess made me feel even worse. So, first of all I tidied up the room, washed the dishes, had breakfast, got ready and left for College. After College I decided that sitting home alone is not so great and went for a walk to the Gyle Shopping Centre which is quite near the College. I wanted to get some more Christmas gifts, but didn't find what I was planning to buy, so I only bought two three things for myself, and two small things for our room, to make it a bit nicer again. I also did some grocery shopping, to buy the things we already ran out of and then I went back home. So this is the outfit I wore today, which was really comfy and together with my furry coat and my basic black Vans, it was perfect for today's weather. I...

2 days left!

Image
Hi! I am totally exhausted from the nearly non-stop revision. I still feel like I don't know anything for my exams, which scares me a lot. It is now Thursday evening and my exams start on Saturday morning and end in the afternoon. I really hope that I will pass somehow, I don't even want to have excellent grades or something! But yes, as you can see, it got really late today, and I am so sorry for that! First the charger of my laptop nearly exploded or whatever, I only know that it is not working, so also my laptop broke down and I have no access to it now. I only could save all the notes I wrote for my finals, because without them I would be dead. So, either I am going to buy a new charger (I am leaving on Monday evening) or Eryk is going to take the hard drive out of the laptop on our short stop in Vienna in June. And this is the most likely version. My arm is still sore and I still can't use it properly, which is very annoying! I never thought this would hurt so muc...

Lazy day again

Image
Good evening friends! Today I had only one hour of school, had to pick up my brother afterwards and I was studying a bit. I feel so bad today because the weather is so strange all the time. Today it was incredibly windy and I couldn't even see the road because of my hair! Also, it was so cold because of the wind that I didn't even know what to wear... Next week the weather is said to be very nice again and I really hope so because this is no longer funny! I don't look too good today as you can see xD I love this candle! I just had to leave it burning! And of course, the sexy home look! Have a nice evening everyone! *39* -Olivia                                                                                                 ...

♥ 10 Valentine's gifts for girls under 20 Pounds ♥

Image
Hello guys! ( Hopefully more boys than girls today!) As I've done the post for girls yesterday, now this is more of a post for boys. And I have to add that girls really like a lot of things! And if you want to get her a special gift, you again don't need to spend a fortune! It is a better idea to buy something smaller, cheaper and to spend time with her! You can invite her to the cinema, to a restaurant, a cafe, or what's even better, invite her to your place and bake a cake or some muffins with her, or if you prefer cooking, then cook something nice together and enjoy it later on! 1) If your girlfriend likes candle ( just as me!) simply buy her some amazing smelling jar of Yankee Candle, WoodWick or other candles that you think she might like! My favourite candles are from Yankee Candle and WoodWick actually, but they are quite expensive.  Large Yankee Candle Jar  I just took the link from boots.com again, but candles you can actually get in every other drugstore, or ...

What the hell happened?

Image
Well, so we went to my cousin's house to celebrate her birthday a bit. Now I am home again and I entered my room and saw the mirror laying on the carpet, broken into three parts. What the hell is going on? How did this happen? This really scared me because before I left my room, it was still on its place. Strange things happening here. o.O But well, anyways, we had some nice cake and we spent some nice time together telling each other funny stories :D And now I have to continue reading the diary of Anne Frank, as I want to finish it by the end of the week. Also I went to town before we drove to my cousin, and I bought some small things, that I am going to add to my January Collective Haul, so I hope that you'll read this post, which is going to be uploaded soon! :) And by the way it isn't that cold anymore, just 0 degrees, which is just acceptable. Have a nice evening, enjoy your free time( if you have some) and relax like I do! :) *73* -Olivia ~28.01.2014 ...

♥ My Christmas presents! ♥

Image
Good evening my dear readers! I see you come from across the world! That makes me very very happy and I hope that I'll gain even more readers! :) As I promised you right in the beginning, I am going to do an entry about my presents that I got for Christmas. I know it is late for christmassy things, but since I've not been home I decided to do it now. I am going to upload a photo of my presents, and I have to say that there are sweets in this picture...but most of the sweets are already in my belly and will never come back! So I am very sorry about that! Also there isn't my Fossil wristband in the picture as I showed it already with my first OOTD. Also I got money, that I am not going to show, and I am trying to save it for moving out and for (hopefully and maybe) spending my Easter Holidays in Edinburgh. So here is the picture and under the picture I am going to write down where the things are from and who got me them! :) 3 Festive Yankee Candles from Yankee Candl...
