First British Advent Calendar!

Image
Today I had my third day off and Eryk finished work early, so we decided to meet up in town, in order to go to Matalan and ASDA. We were actually only planning on going to Matalan because we thought of buying some more home ware for our room. Eryk was already waiting for me when I arrived and we were looking around for nice things. We did find many nice throws, frames and so on, but we were not 100% sure about them whether we should really get them or wait a bit longer. So, we ended up buying Christmas wrapping paper and a nude cami-top for me, as I bought a beautiful transparent top on Monday, but couldn't wear it without a nude top underneath. Now I actually found a pretty one and hopefully they will look really nice together. Of course, I will add a picture on my blog once I've worn the outfit out somewhere. So after we've paid, we took the bus home but decided to go to ASDA and have a quick meal at McDonald's and to do the grocery shopping too. And as ASDA has all...

Baking An Apple Pie | Recipe

Image
As I didn't feel too well since yesterday, I had an appointment with my GP and she tested everything she could and couldn't really find the reason for my sore stomach. But she suggested that I could have too much of stomach acids and I now need to get myself some pills to make my stomach happy again. So, relieved that it is nothing bad, I decided to bake something nice for me and Eryk. I found a polish apple crumble pie recipe in my recipe book and thought that it was about time to try it out. So I did. And here's how: Ingredients: - two small drinking glasses full of plain flour - 2 teaspoons of baking powder - 1 small drinking glass of sugar - 2 tablespoons of double cream - 2 egg yolks - 4 big cooking apples - 4 additional tablespoons of sugar - cinnamon - about 100 g of butter (can be even more) Steps: 1) Sift the flour and baking powder into a big bowl. 2) Add the glass of sugar, double cream, butter and yolks. 3) "Cut" the butter and rest a...

Scented Candle Addict

Image
As you may have already realised, I am kind of a candle addict. I try not to stock up too much on them because I actually want to see them and smell them burn. And if I had too many different ones at the same time, there would always be some of them left unlit. I've always bought scented candles from IKEA, which are great, but I've burnt down all of the ones I had when I still lived in Vienna. I also had one from Primark, in a rectangular piece of glass, and it's Vanilla smell was just amazing! Last Christmas I even got three small Yankee Candles from the Christmas Range, but I didn't have enough space in my luggage to take them all with me when I was moving out. And one of the nicest candles I've had was one from WoodWick, which was also a Christmas gift last year. It had a crackling noise and such a beautifully shaped jar, which could be actually reused as a small bouquet vase. I nearly burnt it down fully before leaving, so I gave it to my mum and she placed i...

Light Blue Triangles

Image
Yesterday I told you that I went to a shopping centre and bought myself something. I also said that I'd show you once I've worn it. So, today I couldn't resist and paired my new necklace with small baby blue triangles, with my back cut-out dress from River Island. I am so happy with this small necklace, that it is already a bit weird. I got it from Dorothy Perkins and usually I wouldn't really buy anything there, but yesterday I thought that they had actually some nice things to have a look at, and so I spotted this cute necklace. Some time ago I was even writing about the lack of statement jewellery in my collection and so I try to get a new piece now from time to time. I wanted a necklace like this one for a longer time now, but I was never really sure whether I will be wearing it and so on. But, I really have many blue/ navy pieces of clothes. And I seriously don't know why, but especially navy blue dresses attract my attention in shops a lot! So, for this reas...

My OOTD: College and Shopping Day

Image
Today I woke up quite late, as the weather was just horrible and made me feel like I don't even need to get out of bed at all this morning. But when I saw the terrible mess in our room I decided that there was definitely a reason to get up, because the mess made me feel even worse. So, first of all I tidied up the room, washed the dishes, had breakfast, got ready and left for College. After College I decided that sitting home alone is not so great and went for a walk to the Gyle Shopping Centre which is quite near the College. I wanted to get some more Christmas gifts, but didn't find what I was planning to buy, so I only bought two three things for myself, and two small things for our room, to make it a bit nicer again. I also did some grocery shopping, to buy the things we already ran out of and then I went back home. So this is the outfit I wore today, which was really comfy and together with my furry coat and my basic black Vans, it was perfect for today's weather. I...

Sunday Evening Cooking

Image
Today I spent the whole day at work again and I am quite exhausted. And even though I came home more than an hour ago, I still didn't change my clothes, didn't brush my hair, which is horribly tangled. I only cooked our meal for tonight and we already ate it all, as it was so tasty. We cooked some rice with a mushroom and red pepper sauce. Here is a short instruction to the dinner: 1) Cook the rice. 2) In the meanwhile, chop mushrooms and a red pepper into small pieces. 3) Cook the vegetables in a low pan, with a bit of oil or butter. 4) Add some Philadelphia stir-in sauce, we used the mushroom one for it. 5) Let it cook for a while, add some salt and pepper, and once the rice is cooked, you are all done!  Enjoy! Now I should definitely go and change my clothes and start doing my homework for College. I am also not too sure yet what I'm going to do tomorrow after College, but we'll see how things will turn out to be. When I think about Christmas...

Apple & Cinnamon Muffins/Doughnuts

Image
Today I had quite a tough day at work and when I came home I decided to treat myself a bit. Last time I've seen an interesting recipe somewhere on the internet, and I thought I could try it out. I finally managed to buy the rest of the needed ingredients today, and after talking to my parents on Skype after work, I started baking. To be honest, this was quite a quick thing to prepare, and I hope it will be tasty! Ingredients :   For the dough:  -  230 g of plain flour                            - 1& 3/4 teaspoon of baking powder                            - 1/2 teaspoon of salt                            - 80 g of softened butter                            - 110 g of brown sugar ...
